- Both must apply together in person for separate interviews
- If not available, use an approved & filed Personal Attendance Excused form
(In the presence of a Commissioner of Oaths, or Notary republic) - Must each bring with you when applying to your license
- Proof of age Gov't ID: birth certificates or passports
- Photo ID: drivers license (or age of majority card)
- If under 18, bring written parental consent
- If under 16, need completed declaration from the Court of Queen's Bench
- Relevant immigrant status card, treaty status card, Canadian citizenship card etc.
- The Licence will expire 90 days (3-months) after issued
- The Licence needs the following information
- Both parties must provide their parents' full names and birth places
- Each partners SIN numbers,
- No photocopies of documents is accepted
- Originals or certified copies only
- This license gets signed by the following at your wedding
- Yourselves (the 2 people getting married)
- Your officiant or religious ceremony leader (Minister, Priest, Imam, ,Rabbi etc.)
- Your 2-witnesses and is then sent to the government by your Minister/ Priest/ Rabbi or officiant (within 48 hours) to confirm the wedding took place
